Kishan Kesari Gupta is a visionary researcher proficient in artificial intelligence and software engineering. He exercises impressive creativity in his research on human action recognition and seeks to enhance broad AI-utilized technologies in various industries. His published works include the application of artificial intelligence in the medical and finance sector, and he has presented his paper at conference, leveraging martial arts movement recognition to improve soldiers’ training.
His work promoting human action recognition through a further understanding of the implementation of deep learning algorithms enabled him to position himself among the forward thinkers of the expanding field and concepts of Artificial Intelligence.
Academic background
Since his early college days, Kishan Kesari Gupta has shown a solid academic foundation. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration specializing in Computer Applications, where he studied programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and JavaScript. Invariably, during his academic coursework, Kishan interacted with his professors, Prof. Akshada Kulkarni and Prof. Amit Tale, to explore research ideas and their views on new and emerging technologies.
He went on to pursue small projects every semester, the first being an online grievance filing application in the judicial system, which kickstarted his journey into technology. It motivated him to complete his higher education and graduate from MITACS College, consistently performing among the top in his class. In the last semester of his studies, he created a web application for publishing and distributing tutorial videos, which worked exactly like YouTube. His professors always supported and guided him throughout his studies and immensely contributed to his evolution as a technologist.
Kishan Kesari Gupta has completed a Master of Science, discipline in Computer Applications, from Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research, Symbiosis International (Deemed University). During this time, he earned in-depth knowledge of the Linux operating system and developed a robust proficiency in the internal workings of operating system programs.
A standout academic performer, Kishan excelled in his first semester, earning the chance to participate as an exchange student in a short-term research program at Ritsumeikan University in Shiga, Japan. There, he worked in the AIS Lab under the guidance of Prof. Joo-Ho Lee, concentrating on human action recognition technology using neural networks. His creation involved developing a technique to recognize human activity from different viewpoints using a martial arts dataset.
After finishing the research program, he again reached out to Prof. Joo-Ho Lee and Dr. Parag Ravikant Kaveri, Deputy Director of Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), for direction on purifying his research, mainly about algorithms for signifying future motions. Kishan later presented this research at the 4th International Conference on Evolutionary Computing and Mobile Sustainable Networks, where it was accepted for publication by Elsevier.
Remarkable accomplishments
From the commencement of his Master’s program at the Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Dr. Parag Ravikant Kaveri played an essential role in shaping Kishan’s research path by sharing practical understandings and providing continuous mentorship, mainly in writing research papers.
For his dissertation project, he authored a research paper on financial market analysis and presented a working Android application. This work was published in IEEE and presented at the 2020 International Conference on Computer Communication and Informatics (ICCCI). After starting his career as a Full Stack Web Developer in the IT industry, he became deeply interested in contributing to society during the COVID-19 pandemic while working from home.
He reached out to Dr. Parag Ravikant Kaveri to explore the use of artificial intelligence in the medical field. With the addition of a few more researchers to the project, he authored a paper on heart health monitoring, which was presented at the International Conference on Advanced Network Technologies and Intelligent Computing and published in Springer Nature. Furthermore, Kishan Kesari Gupta holds several professional memberships, including being a senior member of the International Society for Applied Computing, and is highly passionate about creating AI products with the ambition of benefiting humankind via innovation and technology.
