With the premiere of his latest action film, Deva, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor will make his big-screen comeback after over a year away. Deva is expected to start slowly at the box office, earning an estimated Rs 5–10 crore on its first day of release. Trade analysts predict that the film’s overall receipts, including block bookings, will total about Rs 3.5 crore, while advance ticket sales would likely total about Rs 1.7 crore.
It remains to be seen if the movie will be able to surpass Rs 10 crore on its first day of release. According to trade observers, Deva will mostly rely on word-of-mouth to build momentum and have a successful first weekend.
