Modi 3.0 Cabinet Portfolio List Announced: Check the Full List Now

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath with his 71 ministers for a third consecutive term. The swearing-in ceremony of the PM and his cabinet ministers was administered by Droupadi Murmu at Rashtraati Bhavan in New Delhi. This Union Cabinet for the 18th Lok Sabha entails three cabinet ministers, five ministers of state with independent charge, and 36 ministers of state.

Among the total 71 ministers, the BJP has retained around 31 ministers from the last cabinet. The majority of the ministries are given to the BJP, with the remaining going to allied parties. Allied parties have received 5 cabinet positions, while 2 Ministers of State have been assigned independent charge and 4 are given Ministers of State.

The major ministers have not changed. Amit Shah has the Union Home Ministry; Rajnath Singh has retained the Defense Ministry; Nitin Gadkari has also retained the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways; and Nirmala Sitharaman has got the charge of Finance Ministry. These four ministers are in charge of these portfolios, which make up the crucial cabinet committee on security led by the PM.

The new entrants to the Union Cabinet include former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh, who has got the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministries. While BJP President J.P. Nadda has returned to the health ministry, he held this portfolio in the Modi government’s first term before he took charge of the BJP’s first working president in 2019 and then as full-fledged president next year.

The long-awaited cabinet portfolio allocation that followed the first Cabinet meeting of the new government is done now. Here is the list of leaders and their portfolios.
