PM Modi to Inaugurate Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024: A Gateway to Economic Excellence

Ahmedabad, January 9, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ahmedabad today to inaugurate the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. The two-day summit, running from January 10 to 12, celebrates a decade of success under the theme ‘Gateway to the Future.’
In a statement, PM Modi expressed his joy at the various world leaders joining the summit, highlighting the special significance of the visit of his brother, HH Mohamed Bin Zayed. “I have a very close association with the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, and I am glad to see how this platform has contributed to Gujarat’s growth and created opportunities for several people,” he added.
Here are the top 10 highlights of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024:
- Global Participation: The summit has grown into a global platform, attracting participants from 135 countries and over 2000 exhibitors. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is among the prominent leaders attending.
- Theme – Gateway to the Future: This year’s theme emphasizes the state’s commitment to progress and celebrates “20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success.” It boasts 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations.
- Bilateral Meetings with World Leaders and CEOs: PM Modi is set to engage in bilateral meetings with global leaders and CEOs of top corporations during his three-day visit.
- Record Investments: The Gujarat government anticipates signing numerous investment pacts during the summit. Gujarat has been a major FDI magnet, attracting USD 55 billion in the last two decades.
- Gujarat’s Economic Impact: The state’s auto sector, contributing 13% of Gujarat’s FDI, has outperformed the national average. Gujarat’s auto exports reached ₹12 lakh crore in the fiscal year 2022-23, constituting 33% of India’s total exports.
- Tesla Presence Expectation: While officials remain non-committal, there is hope for a record number of investment pacts, including the participation of Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk.
- 3D Security Measures: To ensure effective communication, dedicated frequency channels, and control rooms with CCTV for security monitoring have been set up. “3-D mapping of venues has been carried out using drones,” said Virendra Singh Yadav, Range DIG, Gandhinagar.
- Previous Edition Success: The 2019 edition witnessed a record 28,360 projects and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed, underscoring the summit’s growing importance.
- HAL’s Participation: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) showcased its capabilities at the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024,’ aligning with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision.
- Global Recognition: Hank Schouten, Chairman, and Founder of Schouten Europe company, acknowledged significant opportunities in India, particularly in the plant-based protein sector.
