A social activist has filed a complaint with Andhra police, alleging that legendary Telugu actor Mohan Babu was involved in the 2004 helicopter disaster that killed actress Soundarya and her brother. The complainant believes the incident was due to a property dispute involving a 6-acre guest home in Shamshabad. The activist has also asked for protection, fearing vengeance from Mohan Babu. The actor has not offered a remark about these claims.
A case has been filed against Telugu legendary actor Mohan Babu 22 years after the plane tragedy that killed Kannada star Soundarya. A social activist filed the complaint, alleging that Babu was at fault for the accident. Soundarya, a well-known actor in the South Indian cinema industry, perished in a helicopter crash on April 17, 2004.
The activist, a native of Satyanarayanapuram village in Khammam Rural Mandal, Khammam district, has addressed the police, requesting a thorough inquiry into the event to discover whether foul play was involved. He further claimed that Manchu Mohan Babu had ‘threatened him’ and asked the police to provide him life protection.
Furthermore, in his letter, the activist said that Mohan Babu had urged late actor Soundarya to sell a six-acre guest property in Jallepalli, Shamshabad, which her brother Amarnath opposed.
Soundarya appeared opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Sooryavansham. She portrayed Radha Singh.
In his letter, the complainant claimed that Mohan Babu had been staying at the Jallepalli guest house. He urged that the government take custody of the property, uphold justice, and take necessary action against Mohan Babu.
He also demanded that the guest home be officially confiscated by the government.
Mohan Babu, famed for his portrayals as villains in various South cinema, has yet to comment to the charges.
