The much-anticipated ‘Nadaaniyan’, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, fails to impress, coming across as a weak attempt at a ‘Student of the Year’-style romantic drama. The film, produced under Dharma Productions, is meant to be a grand launch for Ibrahim, but it struggles with an uninspired storyline, lackluster performances, and forgettable music.
Nadaaniyan Movie Review: A Predictable Launchpad That Falls Short
Plot & Execution
The story revolves around Pia (Khushi Kapoor), a rich girl searching for a ‘fake boyfriend’, who finds Arjun (Ibrahim Ali Khan), a scholarship student with a perfect physique but no social media presence. Pia pays him to pretend to be her boyfriend, leading to the usual misunderstandings and love triangles. While this setup had potential, it gets lost in clichés and forced drama.
The film tries to replicate the glamorous campus romance formula but ends up feeling like a recycled version of better Dharma movies. The script is predictable, dialogues are weak, and even star cameos fail to create an impact.
Performances
While there were expectations from Ibrahim Ali Khan, he fails to impress, with critics noting that he lacks the charm and acting depth of his father, Saif Ali Khan. Khushi Kapoor, too, fails to make an impression, with her performance coming off as flat and uninspiring.
Music & Direction
One of the biggest disappointments is the music by Sachin-Jigar, which fails to deliver the usual catchy Dharma hits. The direction also lacks originality, making the film forgettable rather than a grand debut vehicle for its lead actors
Final Verdict
With predictable storytelling, dull performances, and uninspired music, ‘Nadaaniyan’ fails to justify its hype. It’s a misfire that does little to showcase the potential of its newcomers.
