The power of teamwork and women in leadership: Nidhi Shree’s journey of Growth and Purpose

In 2018, Verkko Group started as a simple idea a vision of building a consulting powerhouse that could very well be counted upon as gateway to business in India. By December 2019, that idea had transformed into reality, marking the beginning of an incredible journey. What started with a small, passionate team of just five members has now evolved into a thriving organization, a growing family bound by trust, collaboration and an unyielding drive for excellence.

As I reflect on these past years, I often wonder what has kept me going, what has propelled me forward with such momentum that time itself seemed to slip away. The answer, undeniably, is my team. Teamwork is not just an abstract concept or a motivational phrase that we read about, it is the foundation of everything we do. It is the synergy, the shared vision, and the unspoken understanding that transforms challenges into opportunities and ideas into reality.

From the very first day, I have been fortunate to be surrounded by individuals who share my passion and commitment.

At Verkko, teamwork isn’t just a process—it’s a culture. It’s about uplifting one another, embracing diverse perspectives, and working together toward a shared vision. With this spirit, we have grown as a consulting organization in ways beyond my expectations. Today, our global footprint spans 15+ countries, serving clients across FMCG, Railways, Automotive, and many other industries.

Thanks to our dedicated team delivering exceptional services, we are now setting our sights on even greater milestones. I have never felt like I was merely going to work, I have felt like I was stepping into a space where ideas propagate, innovation flourishes and each day presents a new adventure. Brainstorming sessions, problem-solving discussions and ideation marathons are not just work activities they are energizing experiences that keep us engaged, challenged and constantly learning. Even on demanding days, the support, laughter and camaraderie within the team make every hurdle worth overcoming.

As a woman in leadership, I have witnessed firsthand the power of collaboration in breaking barriers and driving change. Leadership, especially for women, comes with its unique set of challenges. There are societal expectations, biases and hurdles that often make the journey more demanding. However, with a strong team by one’s side, these challenges become stepping stones rather than obstacles. The key lies in building an environment where talent is nurtured, voices are heard, and contributions are valued irrespective of gender.

Women bring a unique perspective to leadership one that is often characterized by empathy, resilience, and a keen ability to foster inclusivity. At Verkko, we have always strived to create a workspace where women can thrive, where leadership is not defined by gender but by capability, vision and impact.
