The complaints have been filed in multiple locations, demanding legal action against the celebrities for their statements. Apoorva Makhija, Samay Raina, and the team behind the production of the show India’s Got Latent.

Details of the Complaints

  • Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his podcast and motivational content, has been accused of making statements that offended certain communities. Social media backlash intensified, leading to formal complaints against him.
  • Ranveer Singh, a Bollywood superstar, has also landed in controversy due to his alleged comments during a recent public appearance. Critics argue that his remarks were inappropriate and disrespectful, prompting legal actions.

Public and Legal Response

The controversy has triggered debates on freedom of speech vs. accountability in public discourse. Legal experts suggest that if proven offensive under Indian law, the celebrities could face legal consequences. However, supporters argue that the remarks were taken out of context.

What’s Next?

Authorities are currently reviewing the complaints before taking any legal action. Meanwhile, both celebrities have yet to respond to the allegations formally. The controversy continues to trend across social media, fueling discussions about the responsibility of public figures in shaping opinions.

Ranveer Allahbadia, a YouTuber and podcaster, has apologised for his vulgar remarks at a roast event, saying “comedy is not my forte” and “it wasn’t cool”. The 31-year-old tweeted an apologetic statement on X with the caption, “I should not have said what I said on India’s got latent.” “I am sorry.” In the video message, he stated, “My comment was not only inappropriate, but it was also not funny.” I am not good at comedy; I am only here to apologize.”

Mr Allahbadia stated that he had received a deluge of queries about whether he intended to utilize his platform in this manner. “Obviously, this is not the way I want to utilize it. I am not going to provide any background, justification, or logic for whatever occurred. I am only here to apologize. I experienced a slip of judgment. “It was not cool on my part,” he said.

“The podcast is watched by people of all ages, I don’t want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly and family is the last thing I would ever disrespect,” the blogger stated.

Mr Allahbadia stated that the event taught him the importance of using his platform more effectively. “I pledge to get better. I have urged the video’s creators to delete the offensive passages, and all I can say now is that I apologize. “I hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he stated.

During an appearance on India’s Got Latent, the social media influencer challenged a contender, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever.”

A video of the comments went viral, and social media users chastised Allahbadia for his crude comment. Several police complaints were made against him. Politicians from all parties condemned the podcaster, who has 4.5 million Instagram followers and 1.05 crore YouTube subscribers.

Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, was among many who criticised him. “I’ve been notified about this, but I haven’t viewed it yet. I discovered that it was really obscene, which was unacceptable. Everyone has the right to free expression, but that right is limited when we infringe on the rights of others. “Everyone has limits, and if anyone exceeds them, action will be taken,” the Chief Minister stated.
