In conversation with Business Connect Magazine, Mr. Kadam, CEO, talks about the value of time, in-house capabilities, coordination, design, entrepreneurs, expertise, revenue and more,

Business Connect: How do you feel you are different from your competitors?

Mr. Kadam: With expertise in almost all key industry segments, capabilities to handle designs and management of multi-dimensional, large scale assignments at various locations, Long term relations built with all clients makes us distinguished. Our specialized, in-house talent pool and the ability to provide holistic solutions under one roof makes us distinctive. Our expertise is acknowledged by several high profile projects successfully completed across India, Japan, and other Countries.

Business Connect: Did you see any transformation happening for startups, over the years in your field?

Mr. Kadam: With these new concepts as start-ups and our method of evaluation of performance, we have used a variety of competitive strategies to achieve long-term competitive advantage. To create a sustainable competitive advantage, our customers recognized the differences between our services and those of the competitors. So startups are bringing changes in the conventional way of handling projects.

Business Connect: Did everything come easy, or you have your story of struggle?

Mr. Kadam: I always had the will to become an entrepreneur and sought an opportunity to prove myself and grow in the Service industry with Design consultancy as a core technical field. Hence, I decided to quit my comfortable professional life and incorporated SVECS, to cater 360 Degree Solutions under one roof. What started with a handful of experienced engineers in 2013 has successfully outgrown as a team of subject matter experts and has successfully handled more than 45+ projects in Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, and Tissue culture , Engineering Automobiles and Food Sector.

Business Connect: What kind of clients do you serve any special mentions?

Mr. Kadam: We serve a variety of reputed national and international clients from Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Tissue culture, Engineering, Automobiles, Food Beverages, Tissue culture Plastic, Hospitals, and Schools.

Business Connect: How do you ensure unbreakable faith of clients in your company?

Mr. Kadam: With unique design and project management methods by using our expertise, we have demonstrated our clients that projects can be done in time, with quality, with optimum cost and to yield the desired quality and quantity of the product. Based on our support to clients they refer us to other entrepreneurs, so our majority of work comes through word of mouth and   reputation of our brand in the market.

Business Connect: How do you keep pace with the changing market trends?

Mr. Kadam: With considering four factors as necessary to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage as resources relational structure, reputation, innovation, and strategic assets, we have built systems to cater “Need-based Positioning” in the market with solid tools to check the performance and upgradation needed based on new technologies. We always keep our teams restructured with upcoming technologies, systems with trainings and national international standards

Business Connect: Do you believe R&D is essential for the growth of the company?

Mr. Kadam: We are working on three main aspects TEAM, SYSTEMS, STRATEGIES. Our main assets are the team members we always allow them to think outside the box and compare our innovation to the INTERNATIONAL INNOVATION INTENT, even if they fail, we encourage them to find another innovative idea to get solutions for the clients’ need. So R&D and Innovation is backbone of any company.

Business Connect: Do you still come back to work with the same zeal, like you did when you started?

Mr. Kadam: Yes, I do come with same zeal because each and every project has a different challenge and we always prefer to work on challenges, though I have developed my second line team I spare more time on core technical part and educating my team members.

Business Connect: What do you feel the future holds for entrepreneurs?

Mr. Kadam: If you are different from others in terms of quality, service, innovative ideas, the future is bright for you. Gaining faith of client and giving double in optimum cost will make us a successful player in the market. Only those businesses that can come out with products that are unique or different from their competitors can sustain and succeed. So, it’s important for entrepreneurs to be innovative and brain-storm their ideas before the launch of their products.

Business Connect: How necessary do you feel is it to keep your employees content?

Mr. Kadam: We provide conducive and vibrant work culture, opportunities to learn and grow helps in retention of the team. SVECS believe that the commitment of our employees is the reason for our success, hence we give them a healthy environment in the company.

Business Connect: Who do you look up to?

Mr. Kadam: The great Swami Vivekananda and Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are my idols. They’re ideologies taught me about the right usage of our core Knowledge, resources, planning, social commitment and getting maximum work done in minimal time.

Business Connect: How are you giving back to society (CSR, if any)?

Mr. Kadam: SVECS is actively involved in social activities and providing free consulting and training for rainwater harvesting and supporting for the promotion of organic farming to avoid pollution and contamination of food. Hence started new Food Processing Company as SVAM Agrofoodex Pvt. Ltd in order to support this drive. Also, we are supporting Girl child education, rural schools for infrastructure and equipment upgrade.

Business Connect: Apart from work, what else do you like to spend your time doing?

Mr. Kadam: Apart from work I spend time for teaching young engineers in institutes, giving motivational speeches, read books on entrepreneurship, I give few days of the month to my family and daughters to visit historic places.

Business Connect: How do you see the initiatives of present government with respect to your industry?

Mr. Kadam: Govt. has good policies, long term thinking but implementation at ground level is not much effective, and there is a need to focus on the implementation of policies and schemes. If you take the example of collateral free or CGTMSE scheme loan, the banks are not at all entertaining small entrepreneurs.

Business Connect: What are the achievements and milestones of the company?

Mr. Kadam: As first generation businessman, we started with the service industry and earned a good brand name in the field of consultancy with 7 National and 1 international Excellence award. Initially, we were working for Pharmaceutical and chemical industries but we have diversified and are working for all industrial and commercial projects.

Since the investments have intensified on a number of levels in various sectors, the need for engineering and consultancy services in India has grown with it. These investments have not just pushed the Indian industries of this sector further but have also bought international consultancies to accelerate subsidiaries in India.
