Mahavir Jayanti 2025: Will BSE and NSE Remain Closed on April 10?
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed in observance of Mahavir Jayanti, a significant Jain festival commemorating the birth of Lord Mahavir. This closure affects all trading segments, including equity, equity derivatives, and the Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) segments.
Following Mahavir Jayanti, the stock markets will also observe holidays on Monday, April 14, for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, and on Friday, April 18, for Good Friday. Regular trading will resume on the business days following each holiday.
Investors are advised to plan their trading activities accordingly, taking these closures into account. For a comprehensive list of trading holidays for 2025, please refer to the official calendars released by BSE and NSE.
