Sunil Bharti Mittal: Bestowed with Honorary Knighthood

Becoming the first Indian Citizen to be bestowed with an Honorary Knighthood by Britain’s King, Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, Sunil Bharti Mittal was awarded the Knighthood by Britain’s King Charles III on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Mr.Mittal’s name was among the list of Knighthood recipients released by the UK’s Cabinet and he received KBE under the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his contribution in strengthening business relations between India and UK. It is the highest level of civilian award in the United Kingdom conferred.
Business tycoon and philanthropist Sunil Mittal said, “ I’m thankful to the government of the UK, whose support and keen attention to the needs of business has been critical in making the country an attractive investment destination”.
Previous recipients of Honorary Knighthood are Ratan Tata, Pt. Ravi Shankar, and Jamshed Irani.
