In 1992, Jaggi Vasudev founded the charitable Isha Foundation close to Coimbatore, India. The Isha Yoga Center, which conducts yoga classes in accordance with the Isha Yoga programmes, is located there. The entire foundation staff consists of volunteers. You are welcome to stay at the center’s dormitory for no charge if you are interested in volunteering there.

02 – Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara, Himachal Pradesh

Manikaran is a pilgrimage center for Hindus and Sikhs. Hindus believe that Manu recreated human life in Manikaran after the flood, making it a sacred area. It has many temples and a gurudwara. There are temples to the Hindu deities Rama, Krishna, and Vishnu.

04 – Geeta Bhawan, Rishikesh

Rishikesh’s Geeta Bhavan Swargashram is a large building that is situated on the banks of the famous Ganges river. More than 2000 devotees can be accommodated in the building at once, and they are given free lodging. Although the building is crowded throughout the year, the best time to visit is during the summer for one-day Satsang programs organized by the management.

05 – Gurdwara Gobind Ghat, Uttarakhand

This Gurudwara is located on the bank of the Alaknanda River in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district.  Each year, hundreds of devotees, adventure seekers, and nature lovers come to Govind Ghat to see the mysterious beauty of the Valley of Flowers and the famous shrine of Hemkund Sahib. It provides free lodging to tourists, pilgrims, and other travellers. The gurudwara provides stunning views of the mountains and the river.

06 – Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Delhi

  • Entrance Fee: No visiting charge is taken. Foreigners can enter without paying any fee.
  • Accommodation Charges: Rent for an AC room is 1000 INR/day. Non-AC room rent is 800 INR/day. No money is charged for staying inside the hall.
  • Operating Time: The gurudwara is open 24/7, each day of the year, including National holidays.
  • Langar Hours: Only vegetarian food is served. Timings are tentatively from 9 AM to 3 PM & 7 PM to 10 PM.

Both for its religious significance and its beautiful architecture, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is well-known. The massive structure is designed in Sikh style. While the entire structure is built using white marble, it is topped with a central golden dome which is its distinguishing feature.Gurudwara Bangla Sahib entry fee is NIL. Everyone is welcome inside the premises. The rent for AC room is 1000 INR/day. The non-AC room’s rent is 800 INR/day. No money is charged for staying inside the hall.

07 – Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, Sarnath

The architecture of the place is majestic, and the paintings are impressive too. The Buddha is believed to have delivered his first speech to his disciples at Sarnath after becoming enlightened. The calmness and ambiance of this place will make you forget the outside world after visiting Tibetan Buddhist Monastery. This historical monastery in Uttar Pradesh offers accommodation for just INR 50.

08 – Vaishno Devi, Katra

Several halls have been built in Ardhkuwari, Sanjichhat, and Bhawan for the convenience of the pilgrims. Free accommodation is also provided at Niharika Complex in Katra during heavy rush days. For the convenience of the pilgrims, blanket stores, toilet blocks, eateries, catering units, and a medical aid center have been opened in the vicinity of these accommodation units.

09 –Dharamshala Kedarnath

In Kedarnath, ashrams offering free lodging include Gayathri Bhavan, Rajasthan Seva Bhavan, Gujarath Bhavan, Meerut Mandal, Mewar Sadan, Punjab Sindh Awas, and numerous others. For Dharamshala, there is a system for online reservations. Travelers must go to Dharamshala from Kedarnath, and lodging will be given according to availability and priority.

10 – Gurudwara Bhai Mohkam Singh Ji, Dwarka, Gujarat

Gurdwara Bhai Mohkam Singh Ji is a Sikh pilgrimage centre located in Bet Dwarka in the Devbhoomi Dwarka district of Gujarat. This bet is situated in Dwarka’s Budhia area. Bhai Mohkam Singh was a Dwarka resident. The Gurudwara offers free lodging and meals in Langar to pilgrims and other tourists. The building is incredibly clean, so if you’re going across Gujarat and passing through Dwarka, the Gurudwara can be the ideal destination for you to stay the night.
