Women’s premier league 2025 (WPL 2025): Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will try to defend its championship when they face Gujarat Giants on February 14 at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. The final will be held on March 15 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025  वीमेन्स प्रीमियर लीग is scheduled to capture the spotlight from Friday, February 14 to Saturday, March 15. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Giants will face off in the championship’s inaugural match. For the first time, the competition will be held at four distinct sites.

Among these, the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow and the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara will make their WPL debuts. The other sites are M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The first leg will be held in Vadodara with six matches, followed by eight in Bengaluru. Lucknow will host four games in the third leg, followed by four matches at the Brabourne Stadium. RCB are the incumbent champions, having defeated the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final last season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The other two teams in the tournament are the UP Warriorz (UPW) and the Mumbai Indians (MI), who won the first edition. Sophie Devine, Kate Cross, Sophie Molineux, Pooja Vastrakar, Asha Sobhana, and Alyssa Healy are among the notable names who will not participate in WPL 2025. In Healy’s absence, the Warriorz have appointed Deepti Sharma as their new skipper.

The event will also include players from India’s under-19 squad, which won the T20 World Cup in Malaysia. The players are Niki Prasad (Delhi Capitals), Parunika Sisodia (Mumbai Indians), Shabnam Shakeel (Gujarat Giants), VJ Joshitha (Royal Challengers Bengaluru), and G Kamalini (Mumbai Indians).

Sarah Bryce became the third associate cricketer to play in the WPL, following her sister Kathryn and Tara Norris of the United States. The Giants also announced Ash Gardener as their new captain, succeeding Beth Mooney.
