Their vision is to establish Prollets as a unique and trusted brand for millet-based products as well as to change the scenario from unhealthy eating habits of processed or junk foods to healthy eating habits of processed foods with traditions worldwide.

Their mission is to empower the rural village’s small farmers to cultivate the traditional crops, like small cereals, i.e., Millet, and edible oil seeds, and increase the rearing of livestock of Indian breed cows, which helps or benefits the development of natural nutritionally enriched food products, which resolves consumers healthy food eating requirements and empowers our rural area’s farmers.

THE GENESIS OF PROLLETS – HOW HAS THE JOURNEY BEGUN?

Starting an entrepreneurial journey was no piece of cake for Mihir Mukund Desai and his B.Tech classmate Mr. Sanket Patil (Co-founder), and Mr Sandip Pingle(Co-founder); they initially thought about this idea in 2021 and explored numerous startups and well-known businesses in the food industry to better understand their journeys and the struggles they overcame to become renowned or to build their brands. They learned a significant lesson during that time: competing with well-known food brands and the food sector was not simple.

Following extensive market research and site visits, they settle on starting with their traditional approach, i.e., millets-based products that are well-known in markets and are currently consumed in every home on a daily basis. Additionally, they have developed 13–14 different milletbased healthy ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook snack products for the market, which they have launched in April 2023. In academic Banton, Mihir Desai did an M.Tech in Food Engineering and Technology, and pursuing Ph.D. in Food Engineering from ICT, Mumbai. While Sanket Patil did Masters’s in Packaging and Sandip Pingle is Computer Engineer by qualification.

PROLLET’S DISTINCTIVE REVENUE MODEL
