The blaze reportedly broke out on Tuesday morning, April 7, 2025, around 9:45 AM at a school located in the River Valley Shophouse area. Mark, aged eight, sustained injuries to his hands and legs and is experiencing respiratory discomfort due to smoke inhalation. He was promptly rushed to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
According to reports, the fire spread across the second and third floors of the school building, where a children’s camp was being held. The Singapore Civil Defence Force extinguished the fire within 30 minutes, but not before it injured 19 people, including 15 students. Mark Shankar’s condition is said to be stable, though doctors are closely monitoring his recovery due to the severity of his injuries and lung complications.
Pawan Kalyan, who is currently on an official tour in the Alluri Sitarama Raju district as part of his ‘Adivasi Thalli Path’ program, was informed of the incident. Despite urgings from party leaders and officials to immediately travel to Singapore, the Jana Sena Party president has chosen to honor a prior commitment to the tribal community in Kuridi village near Araku Valley. “I promised the villagers I would meet them as scheduled, and I am committed to completing the tour,” Kalyan stated in a press release. He plans to depart for Singapore from Visakhapatnam immediately after finalizing development arrangements in the tribal region.
The incident has sparked concern among Pawan Kalyan’s fans and well-wishers, with many taking to social media to express their support and prayers for Mark’s speedy recovery. Further updates on his health are awaited as the family navigates this challenging time. Pawan Kalyan shares Mark Shankar and his sister Polena Anjana Pawanova with his wife, Anna Lezhneva, a Russian actress he married in 2013.
