Aarti Ravi and Ravi Mohan appeared in Chennai Family Court on May 21 to submit separate petitions in their divorce case. Ravi Mohan announced his divorce last year, and the separated couple has been publicly accusing each other. At the Family Court, Ravi reiterated his demand for a divorce, while Aarti Ravi requested Rs 40 lakh in monthly alimony.

Previously, Ravi Mohan sued for divorce, and the court ordered the pair to undergo reconciliation sessions. The couple had been attending the classes as instructed.
Ravi petitioned the court on May 21 to reject Aarti’s request for cohabitation.
The Court recommended both parties to review their applications and delayed the case until June 12.
Aarti Ravi published a lengthy statement yesterday, referring to Ravi Mohan’s rumored lover Kenishaa Francis as a “homebreaker”. An extract from her statement read: “The truth must be told once and for all. Money, power, meddling, or control are not the root causes of our marital problems. There is a third member in our marriage. What broke us wasn’t something between us; it was someone outside. The “light of your life” merely brought gloom to ours. That is the truth. This individual was already in the picture long before the divorce papers were filed.
Ravi Mohan made waves last year when he announced his divorce from Aarti. In a counter-post, Aarti claimed that the choice was taken “without her consent”.
Ravi Mohan stated in his message that he did not make the choice to divorce hastily. He added, “After much thought, reflection, and discussion, I have made the difficult decision to proceed with the dissolution of my marriage with Aarti.” This decision was not taken hastily, and it is based on personal considerations that I feel are in the best interests of all parties concerned.” He also changed his name, Jayam Ravi, to Ravi Mohan.
Ravi Mohan, the son of famous film editor A Mohan, has worked on films like Jayam, Daas, Mazhai, Bommarillu, Peranmai, Romeo Juliet, Bhoomi, and Siren.
Aarti is the daughter of Sujatha Vijayakumar, a television producer. Ravi Mohan and Aarti have two kids, Aarav and Ayaan.
