Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Former BJP Leader, Passes Away at 94
According to the party, veteran BJP politician Vijay Kumar Malhotra passed away on Tuesday morning, September 30, 2025, at the age of 94. For the past four days, he has been receiving treatment at AIIMS.
Delhi unit chairman Virendra Sachdeva released a statement saying, “With deep sorrow, we have to inform that Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, the first president of Delhi BJP and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, passed away this morning.”
He exemplified simplicity and a commitment to public service in his life. According to Mr. Sachdeva, he has been devoted to spreading the Sangh’s doctrine in Delhi since the time of Jan Sangh.
All BJP employees have always found inspiration in his life and will do so in the future,” he continued.
By the way, Malhotra died the day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the Delhi BJP’s permanent office at DDU Marg on Monday, September 29, 2025.

Around 8.45 a.m., his remains will be taken to his official residence, 21 Gurdwara Rakabganj Road, so that mourners may offer their condolences, the party announced.
