Day 5 box office receipts for Idli Kadai: The Dhanush-starring film is still doing well at the box office, holding steady as it enters its fifth day. Despite competition from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, the subdued drama stays consistent.
On Day 5, Idli Kadai brought in Rs 6 crore, bringing its total revenue in India to Rs 38.60 crore, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. On Sunday, the movie’s overall Tamil occupancy rate was 44.15%. From 24.03% in the morning to a peak of 57.86% during evening shows, it grew steadily throughout the day.
After directing Pa Paandi, Raayan, and Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, Dhanush’s fourth film is Idli Kadai. The movie has already outperformed Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, which made Rs 8.09 crore at the box office at the conclusion of its run. It does not, however, surpass Raayan, which earned Rs 42.65 crore in its first three days and is still Dhanush’s highest-grossing film.

After learning of his father’s death, Idli Kadai follows a guy as he looks for his heritage and his family’s legacy. Arun Vijay, Raj Kiran, Parthiban, Nithya Menon, and Sathyaraj all play significant parts in the movie.
Reviews of the movie were divided when it debuted on October 1. “Idli Kadai is a sort of miracle being made in today’s film ecosystem because it is the kind of dramatically inert, vignette-like cornball of a film that would not fair well in the age of loud, thumping blockbusters,” an extract from SCREEN’s review stated. This stand-alone movie is preoccupied with origins, nostalgia, and our cultural heritage. There aren’t any spin-offs, sequels, or arc continuations here. Just a classic story that balances pompous sentimentality with sincere guilt art inspired by painful insights.
