THE BRAIN BEHIND THE BRAND

Just before the inception of the venture, Ridhi observed a huge gap in the education arena as there was the extremely poor performance of students which was leading to low enthusiasm for learning among them and was also triggering stress in both students as well as their parents.

Giving a detailed introduction of the company, Ridhi quips, “We have experienced firsthand the challenges faced by teachers while they navigate student learning, manage diverse curriculum needs, address parental concerns and meet state department’s initiatives. We have witnessed issues related to stress, lack of motivation in underperforming students, and frustration in parents.

Leveraging these insights, the AcadAlly team has been transforming our schools through innovative systemic changes in instructional delivery, deploying assessment data for remedial action, and using technology to reach every student. This led to the formation of AcadAlly. We have helped thousands of students and are now poised to scale up to meet the learning needs of thousands of schools.”

She further adds, “The idea for AcadAlly was born during school closures due to Covid when we experienced three significant issues- lack of tech infrastructure and pedagogy for seamless and efficient online teaching, parents who could not support students’ learning at home, and most importantly, learning loss amongst students due to learning isolation and social-emotional issues.

A comprehensive solution that addressed the ground reality was not available in the market. Voila, AcadAlly! When schools opened for a short period in 2021, we conducted focus group discussions with various stakeholders-students, teachers, parents, and management as well as a nationwide teacher survey and got responses from over 10,000 participants.

AcadAlly’s comprehensive solution to address the needs of every student and ease of use by teachers was developed in conjunction with education and technology experts. Teachers, parents, and school leaders further helped to fine-tune the offerings.” Sharing his viewpoint, Yash asserts, “AcadAlly’s team is its biggest competitive advantage. We both have expertise in school operations, scaling businesses, and data analytics.

Our investor Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha has founded the well-known Indian School of Business, and Ashoka University. Bhavin Shah is the Director of Education World and Vivek Shukla is the Director of Affairs Exhibitions. With a cumulative experience of over 60 years in the sector, we understand the pulse of this sector and have access to over 60, 000 schools in India and across other geographies.

Our K-12 experts have a proven track record of three decades in school transformation, training, curriculum development, assessment, and research. Our technology team has over 15+ years of experience in building learning management solutions (LMS & LXP and expertise in research, UI/ UX, tech implementation, monitoring & optimizations.”

“We aim to start with India and expand our footprint globally in phase 2 with appropriate product variations. With respect to the student population in K-12 in India, our TAM is 270 million, SAM in private education is 121.5 million and TOM is 8-9 million. To do this, TAM in terms of the total number of private schools in India is 420,000, SAM is 60,000, and TOM we can service is approximately 8,000 schools.

Our confidence to reach this target stems from our own network as school owners in India and from the strategic involvement of our investorsto access markets such as Africa, Korea, Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. Key factors driving the edtech market in India include penetration of digitization in the education sector, growing adoption of edtech tools, the proliferation of smart devices, and seamless internet connectivity at low costs.”- Ridhi Agarwal.
