LAYAM GROUP’S PIONEERING CONCEPT OF MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE BY CONVERTING HEAD COUNT TO BRAIN COUNT
Filling positions or vacancies in any organization without paying heed towards the potential and expertise of the candidates can put companies into trouble. For obvious reasons, this affects the company’s efficiency due to less capable employees, as well as result in a large number of dropouts. Neutralizing this, Layam Group came into existence to recruit the best talent for your workplace, thereby focusing on Brain Count rather than headcount. Incorporated in Chennai in 2007 with a mission to stay ahead of the competition by innovating newer lines of service offerings based on the changing needs of clients, evolving market trends and rapid technological development. Under the stewardship of Founder and Chairman, G.S. Ramesh, Layam Group has become a 150-crore plus company and living up to their tag line-Catalyst for Growth. Ramesh says, “After my successful tenure at Hyundai, I turned entrepreneur and set up Layam Group in 2007.” Started in Chennai with just four employees, Layam group provided staffing, recruitment and training services with an aim to provide opportunities to school and system drop-outs.
They identified the ones who seemed competent and had the potential to adapt to the challenges of working for a big company. These candidates were made to go through rigorous on-the-job training for two years with partner companies, and after the training period, they were placed successfully in various multinational companies. This initiative was started much before the skill India came into existence. They are proud to say that more than 10000 people have been placed in various jobs across India through this pioneering method.
It’s been a decade since their humble beginning. Today,Layam Group have expanded the business to provide end-to-end staffing and HR solutions, learning and development, contract manufacturing and professional engineering services to companies in India and abroad. They work as a trusted partner for companies that makes them unparalleled.
Headcount to Brain Count is a concept pioneered by Layam Group and has been the driving force of the company since its inception. This process works on the simple method of focusing on brain count rather than headcount while fulfilling the staffing needs of clients. Brain Count or in other words people who are capable, efficient and performance-driven are trained for skilled and unskilled jobs. Such candidates eventually emerge as the frontrunners in accomplishing organizational growth and career success.
Since inception, Layam Group has always been at the forefront of offering innovative services to its candidates and clients alike. In the present competitive environment, for any Industrial establishment, success can be maintained through ‘Low Cost, High Productivity’ coupled with a philosophy of ‘Do More with Less’.
