Newgen Software Strengthens Foundational Computer Literacy (FCL) Through CSR Fund Support to Computer Shiksha.
Newgen Software has reaffirmed its commitment to bridging the digital divide through its collaboration with Computer Shiksha, an NGO dedicated to delivering computer literacy to under-served communities across India. The partnership is backed by Newgen Software’s CSR funding support and donation of end-of-life computers.
In FY 2025-26, through CSR fund support, the MagicBox program reached over 3 lakh+ under-served students. MagicBox is a 32-inch Smart LED TV pre-loaded with self-learning Foundational Computer Literacy (FCL) and AI video courseware. It does not require a computer trained teacher or internet. The innovative solution is especially beneficial in rural, remote and border area schools where computer trained teachers are scarce and internet connectivity is unreliable. Additionally, Computer Labs were established in 32 special schools with differently abled students, across India.
During FY 2026-27, three new projects are being implemented. The MagicBox program will be implemented in 765 low-budget schools, Computer Labs will be established in 26 schools in North-East India and 10 special schools across India. This would enable the program’s reach to 5 Lakh+ students across India by the end of the current Financial Year.
Newgen CSR’s mission of digital literacy for the less-privileged students in the last 10 years has reached 5.5lakh students in over 1900 schools. We are proud to have partnered with Computer Shiksha who has enabled us to scale up our program, achieve these numbers and reach the remotest corners of the country.
