Pope francis vatican_Pope Francis remains aware, and oxygen is still being provided. Transfusions have helped to improve his blood values. There is an initial mild renal insufficiency. He attended mass today.
The Holy See Press Office issued the following medical update on Pope Francis on Sunday evening:
The Holy Father’s condition remains severe, although he has not had a respiratory crisis since yesterday evening. He received two units of concentrated red blood cells with positive results, and his hemoglobin levels have increased.
The thrombocytopenia is stable; however, several blood tests reveal early, moderate renal insufficiency, which is now being managed.
High-flow oxygen treatment continues via nasal cannulas.
The Holy Father stays vigilant and focused.
The prognosis must remain cautious due to the intricacy of the clinical state and the time required for pharmacological therapy to produce benefits.
He attended Holy Mass this morning in his tenth-floor apartment, among people who have been caring for him during his hospital stay.
