Next month could see the launch of the Apple iPhone 15 series. With the impending release, a series of leaks have started to surface on the internet, providing early insights into the features of the upcoming iPhones. Speculations ranging from pricing details to specifications have been circulating widely across various social media platforms.
The most recent leak has illuminated several crucial aspects of the iPhone 15. This includes revelations about the battery type, charging components, and notably, the presence of an Apple-designed 3LD3 chip within the device.
A certain individual, who goes by the name Majin Bu, recently shared a series of images on Twitter, giving a close-up view of the phone’s USB C connector and its proprietary chip. Majin Bu’s initial images provided a sneak peek into the charging components, prominently featuring the phone’s USB C connector.
Furthermore, the user posted another set of visuals displaying the packaged 3LD3 chip. However, Majin Bu did not disclose the specific function of this chip. A tweet read, “The iPhone 15 series showcases the encapsulated 3LD3 chip. Despite being labeled as a self-designed chip, its exact purpose remains mysterious. Drawing from similar plastic-packaged chips seen in previous iterations, it could potentially relate to transmission encryption.”
It’s important to note that this isn’t the first time leaked details about the iPhone 15’s USB Type-C port have appeared on social media. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously stated in March that the iPhone 15 series would feature a USB Type-C port, ensuring rapid charging capabilities with officially certified cables.
Meanwhile, another Apple insider, known as Unknownz1, has also shared noteworthy insights about the upcoming Apple devices. This disclosure delves into intricate aspects such as the composition of the CPU and GPU, clock speeds, as well as the type and quantity of RAM.
According to the disclosure, the iPhone 15 will be equipped with a 6-core CPU consisting of two high-performance cores and four efficiency cores. The phone will also boast 6GB LPDDR5 DRAM (Low Power Double Data Rate SDRAM).
Amidst the buzzing rumor mill, there are indications suggesting that Apple might hold its event on September 13—a move that aligns with the company’s historical pattern of announcements on the second Tuesday or occasionally Wednesday. Following this timeline, if Apple does indeed unveil the new iPhone lineup on September 13, pre-orders could kick off on September 15, potentially making the devices available for purchase on September 22.
