The Bengaluru-based virtual restaurant enabler sets its sights on a 600-location footprint and a ₹500 Cr revenue target following a massive capital injection from industry heavyweights.
In a move that signals a major consolidation of traditional food legacy and modern tech-driven distribution, Dil Foods has successfully closed a ₹72 Crore ($7.5 Million) Series B* funding round. The investment was led by the family office of Bikaji Foods International, with strong support from existing backers including V3 Ventures, MJV Ventures, and Alteria Capital.
This latest round brings the startup’s total funding to ₹113 Crore, marking a significant milestone for Founder and CEO Arpita Aditi, who has built a “house of brands” that celebrates the diversity of Indian regional cuisine.
More Than Just a Cloud Kitchen
Unlike traditional cloud kitchen models that require heavy capital for real estate, Dil Foods operates as a *virtual restaurant enabler. The company partners with local, independent restaurants, utilizing their spare kitchen capacity to run delivery-only brands like Khichdi Bar, Bihari Bowl, and House of Andhra.
By providing these partners with standardized recipes, technology layers, and a robust supply chain, Dil Foods turns underutilized assets into high-margin revenue streams.
“Dil Foods has always been built on the idea of creating a sustainable ecosystem in the food industry,” said Arpita Aditi. “This funding will help us double down on that belief and capture a larger share of the consumer’s plate.”
The Road to 600 Pincodes
With the fresh capital, Dil Foods is moving into an aggressive expansion phase. Currently operating across 340 pincodes in six major cities, the startup aims to:
- Scale to 600 locations by FY28.
- Target an annualized revenue of ₹500 Crore.
- Deepen penetration* into high-growth Tier-I and Tier-II markets.
- Strengthen backend production* and food-tech innovation.
Why Investors are Biting
The lead by Bikaji Foods Family Office is particularly strategic. For a legacy brand like Bikaji, known for its snack empire, Dil Foods offers a direct window into the evolving tastes of the digital-first consumer. *Arjun Vaidya* of V3 Ventures noted the startup’s incredible efficiency, stating they have scaled nearly *30x* since the early seed stages while maintaining strict capital discipline.
As the Indian food delivery market shifts toward authentic, “home-style” regional flavors, Dil Foods is positioning itself as the bridge between local culinary talent and a national audience.
