On his 46th birthday, actor Emraan Hashmi announced the release of his much anticipated film, Awarapan 2. The film is expected to be released in April of next year.
Emraan Hashmi Unveils ‘Awarapan 2’ Release Date on His 46th Birthday
Awarapan 2, starring Emraan Hashmi, will be released in theaters in April 2026. On Monday, the actor, who turns 46, confirmed the release date.
Emraan shared a teaser for his successful 2007 film on Instagram, writing, “Bas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakh #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026 (sic).”
Awarapan 2 opens in theaters on April 3, 2026. It will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt.
Awarapan (2007) is a Bollywood action thriller directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt for Vishesh Films. The film stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role and also features Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana in key parts.

The plot revolves around Shivam (Emraan Hashmi), a moody hitman working for the vicious criminal Malik (Ashutosh Rana). Shivam is assigned to keep a check on Malik’s mistress, Reema (Mrinalini Sharma), but his life changes when he finds her longing for independence and love. As he deals with his terrible background and unexpected feelings, he begins on a perilous mission of atonement.
Awarapan is known for its strong storyline, gritty action, and soulful music by Pritam, but it was also hailed for Emraan Hashmi’s acting and hauntingly beautiful soundtrack.
The film, inspired by the South Korean film A Bittersweet Life, has developed a cult following over the years, particularly for its themes of love, sacrifice, and redemption.
