Indian billionaire Pankaj Oswal and his wife Radhika Oswal have made headlines with their recent acquisition of one of the world’s most expensive homes. Situated in the charming Swiss village of Gingins, the villa spans an impressive 430,000 square feet and boasts breathtaking views of the snow-capped Alps. Formerly owned by Christina Onassis, daughter of Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, this luxurious property is estimated to have been purchased for a staggering $200 million (INR 1,649 Crore).

The Oswals, renowned for their involvement in various industries including petrochemicals, real estate, fertilizers, and mining through their company, Oswal Group Global, spared no expense when it came to their new residence. The villa underwent an extensive redesign following its acquisition, entrusted to the esteemed interior designer Jeffrey Wilkes, as reported by GQ.

In 2013, the Oswal family relocated from Australia to Switzerland, embarking on a new chapter in their lives. They christened their opulent abode Villa Vari, after their two daughters, Vasundhara Oswal and Ridi Oswal. Vasundhara, aged 24, holds positions as Executive Director of PRO Industries PTE LTD and Director General at Axis Minerals, while Ridi, 19, is currently pursuing a degree in chemical engineering in London.

For the Oswal family, Villa Vari is more than just a luxurious residence; it represents a dream come true—an embodiment of their Indian heritage away from their home country. Ridi Oswal expressed this sentiment in a recent Instagram post, stating, “Being Indian and living abroad, you always miss the smallest things about your culture, especially in regards to aesthetics, food, and even the people. It was my family’s dream to create a little India away from India, and I’m glad to see they have succeeded in doing so.”

The villa’s interior reflects the Oswals’ global taste, featuring custom installations sourced from various corners of the world. According to Hello Magazine, notable highlights include an accent wall adorned with intricately carved niches reminiscent of the Amber Palace of Jaipur and exquisite chandeliers imported from Turkey and Morocco. In addition to its stunning aesthetics, Villa Vari boasts a private gym, a spa and wellness wing adorned with gold accents, and expansive French windows that provide panoramic views of the lush gardens and majestic mountains.
