Bengaluru ‘the Silicon Valley of India’ has been producing some of the best talents in the world for the last two decades. This is exactly when a young man emerged on the Indian landscape. After having eleven years of seasoned expertise in designing, Anil Reddy was looking to add new horizons to his skills. What could be better than becoming an entrepreneur with an all-new concept? Before coming back to Bangalore in 2012, Mr. Reddy used to live in Auckland (New Zealand) and was living quite satisfactory life there. He was at the zenith of success at that point of time. He had successfully ideated digital experiences and/or web campaigns for top guns such as Coke, Adidas, BP, Nissan and Sony Play Station etc.

Taking the road less travelled

One may wonder what enticed him to leave such an exciting career and explore an uncertain path. The answer lies in his yearning to see India on the top spot in the arena of designing. To live his dream, he gave final shape to his vision in the form of Lollypop – a UX/UI company. He developed his love for art and design during his school days. Initially, the sketch competitions would fascinate him a lot. Later on, this became the foundation of his career.

After the inception of Lollypop in 2013, the things were not as hunky dory as expected. The concept of digital presence was still not in vogue. He looked for clients but owing to the lack of awareness of the design field, it was a herculean task. During initial months, the path of the company was full of struggle. This is why Anil was compelled to design at exceptionally nominal rates. Many times, he had doubt his decision of entering entrepreneurship.

It is said that good work pays you directly or indirectly. The reputation that he had developed during his long stint in New Zealand eventually worked for him. After few months of the inception of Lollypop, he started getting projects from New Zealand which helped him grow his team from one to seven members. Since then, the company has never looked back and kept on climbing the ladder of success. Lollypop is strongly based on the belief of empowering clients and users with impressive, unique and innovative digital design solutions.

Purposeful designing

The methodology of company is unique. It conducts a workshop that typically includes one to two days to get a clear picture of the client’s challenges before taking up a project. Further, it dedicates a team for each project, with project managers becoming the point of contact for clients. Emphasizing upon its strategy, Mr. Reddy asserts, “Design is purposeful and has power to solve real problems of real people”.
