The leadership team of the company on occasion of their 25th Anniversary shared numerous lesser-known facts about the company and also shed some light on their overall entrepreneurial journey so far. Company Preface
In the era of Digital Transformation where innovation, technology and automation are the core behind industrial growth, it’s a necessity for manufacturing industry to embrace an automated way of working with technology first approach! The well-known pioneers hailing from Punjab, India – Mr H.S. Saggu, Mr. Arun Malhotra & Mr. N.S, Aulakh, 25 years ago forecasted this future for the industry.
Together they saw a vision to acquaint the manufacturing industry with ultramodern machine technology. With this amalgamation, in 1998 incepted SAM Automation Technologies Pvt Ltd. SAM Automation today associates itself with more than 19 principals, 2000+ customers and 2500+ solutions and machines. 2023 is silver year for SAM Automation Technologies as they complete their 25 years of serving excellence.
How it all began
In 1998 the Trio mapped the prevalent challenges behind the slow growth of manufacturing industry in north India. The technology was knocking the doors much later in north as compared to its global pace. In the year 2006 when on one side the industry saw an escalated demand for CNC machines it also suffered severe shortage of skilful machine operators & programmers.
Co-founders of SAM took an ardent step and established a sister company Sam’s Techno School to support the industry with efficient and trained workforce through various training courses and modules. With head office in Mohali and 2 regional offices in Ludhiana & Jalandhar, SAM has positioned itself as a thought leader in the manufacturing industry of North India by showing its dedication, hard work and customer first spirit. The company’s support team is made up of experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing customers with best solutions.

From the last 25 years SAM Automation Technologies focuses on customer satisfaction and excellence. With their holistic approach they tap the actual need of their customer and relatively provide them with the correct solutions. SAM has a diverse sales portfolio that includes machine tools, metrology, automation, Industrial flooring, mist collectors, & software solutions for manufacturing 4.0. With constant support and dedication of the area managers Mr. Vitul Singla (Mohali), Mr. Rajesh Bhatia(Ludhiana), Mr. Rajesh Kapoor(Jalandhar) SAM enabled itself to gain a bigger market share in the industry.
After sales service provided by SAM Automation Technologies under the leadership of Mr. Chanderkant Sharma & Mr. Pankaj Batra helped them gain the customer trust and preference. Service team at SAM is proficient in providing cutting edge solutions for breakdown support, preventive maintenance, over-hauling, spindle repair, spare parts and AMC’s. The class apart after sales service provided by SAM automation also includes training the engineers and operators at the client side post installation of the machinery.
Connecting minds with the world of Solutions to Machines
When SAM Automation Technologies is connecting solutions to machines its sister company SAM’s Techno School under the mentorship of Mr. Jagpal Singh Bahra & Mrs. Suman Sharma is introducing humans to the world of solutions and machines. SAM’s Techno School is an alma mater to everyone who takes a step into the world of advanced manufacturing systems.
With a vision to generate employment opportunities and building a sustainable socio economy the school provides 6 week training, 6 months industrial training & special courses to the interested students. The school is also associated with the PMKVY Govt. scheme in which the students in addition to certification from SAM’s Techno School get rewarded with a certification from government of India along with a cash prize upon clearing the exam.
Students at training centres are trained on live machines for CNC operating, CNC programming, CNC maintenance, 2D/3D designing (cad/cam lab) & robotics. The training centres have their own CAD/CAM Labs too. At training centres every student gets equipped with the best industry practises and hands on training on the live machine for its practical usage along with theoretical curriculum. The curriculum at training centres also emphasizes on the soft skill development necessary to step into the corporate world.

SAM’s Techno School has signed MOUs with various corporates. Upon successful completion of the training each student is assured for its placement.

With advent of COVID-19 over the past 2 years when companies were hitting rock bottom Mr. Manuraj Singh Saggu (Director, Sam Automation Technologies) took ardent measures and adopted digitation and automation as their key solution. They shifted their manual ways of working to a fully digitized system through the ERP software. With digitization and automation at its best use SAM achieved a more transparent and a robust work culture within the organization.
The ERP also became a stepping stone that enhanced the customer trust and business transparency. The service engineers at SAM are capable of providing more accurate service reports to the customers that are digitally generated. Mrs. Jasmeen Kaur (HR Head, SAM Automation Technologies) is working towards building a diversity charter for the organisation to diversify the organizational culture.
Journey Ahead
In their closing statements, Cofounders along with Managing director, SAM Automation Technologies shared their vision of taking the next step and spreading its wings in other parts of India. On the 25th year celebration, they have decided to take Innovation, Automation, Digitization in the area of Solutions and Machines to the next level. The ease of customer, happy work culture and for contributing to the society with employment generation will always remain the top priority for SAM Automation Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
