Driving The Wheels Of Empowerment
There is a saying, “When you support an entrepreneur, you support a dream”.
Entrepreneurs are visionaries, and their work has a beneficial social and economic impact. They can improve living standards and drive innovations and products to elevate the marketplace. But, maintaining a steady flow of funds to shape ideas often becomes a major challenge. Not to mention, sourcing funds to start and grow is a challenge – no less. Eventually, these harm the morality and motivation of entrepreneurs.
These slew of issues has piqued the interest of many Leaders who envisage their unbridled progress. Mr. Tushar Kansal is a popular name in this pantheon. He has been the reckoning force to many entrepreneurs over the past more than 2 decades. Through his VC firm, Kansaltancy Ventures, Mr. Kansal is supporting many innovators to shape their ideas and achieve their sought-out goals.
EARLY LIFE & INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE
From School to College and job, Mr. Kansal had the privilege of growing with the elites. He completed most of his schooling at the Montfort School in Delhi and completed his B.Tech from the Textile Institute of Textile and Sciences, affiliated to Textile Institute, Manchester. He even had his first placement at the same college. But, very soon, his interests were rerouted to Finance. With an unwavering focus, he completed his MBA from University of Delhi and got campus placement in the M&A division of SBI Capital Markets.
Throughout the next decade, he made great strides as a Business Leader.
“At Deloitte, I executed Private Equity assignments/ Valuations & Financial Advisory. At Brand Capital, I was part of the team investing across companies. At MTS India, as head of Debt division, I was instrumental in raising almost $2.5 billion of debt in 3 years and handled all round Financial goals as CFO of DLI, including compliances towards the PE Fund Guggenheim, as the main investor and owner,” asserts Mr. Kansal.
THE LIGHT BULB MOMENT
In 2013, Mr. Kansal founded Indus B2C Global – a Consumer B2C Startup offering Hair Extensions. Here, he identified the gaps faced by Entrepreneurs which hurdle their growth. He realized that Startups lacked guidance as to how to unravel resource-based opportunities. And that a holistic VC can help in scaling faster progress – beyond which companies can only dream of in balance sheet over profit & loss accounts.
Determined to change, Mr. Kansal left the Startup and became a Financial Investor, laying the foundation of Kansaltancy Ventures. From there, he dedicated his experience to growing Startups and growth-stage companies with Equity fundraising, Debt, Mergers and Acquisitions, and mentoring. His mission was to solve their investment challenges. He also founded Saffron First, a startup network. Through Venture Capital and funding networks, Mr. Kansal has built an ecosystem that provides enterprises with ultra-fast scalability.
