The Onset towards an Innovative Approach
As a pioneering construction firm catering to all categories of building needs, VRC has adopted the POSDCARB theory of Luther Gullick in its operations. Before submitting a bid, they plan a course of action depending on the site circumstances. To plan for successful execution, field implementation, and on-time project delivery while maintaining margins, they leverage both internal and external industrial expert services.
“The Quality of the Works of VRC Construction is Known.” Every day, we repeat this mantra to ourselves as we work on any construction project at the site. This sets VRC apart from the competition and offers us an advantage”, revealed the visionary leader.
Government’s Role, Strengthening the Infrastructure Sector
The infrastructure sector is essential to India’s transition from a developing to a developed country. The government has taken steps and launched numerous programs, including the Bharatmala Pariyojna of Highways, the Sagarmala Pariyojna of Waterways, the Rehabilitation and Development of Ghats, Refinery Expansions, the setting up of 2G Ethanol Plants, etc., to enhance this sector and fulfil future demands. The VRC Constructions Company has grown tremendously as a result of these programs, contributed to these projects and provided qualitative construction services.
Hiccups Along the Way
Both successes and obstacles are part of the journey. And VRC is no exception. Intense competition, low margins, highly demanding clients, and the limited availability of skilled personnel are some of the primary challenges the company confronts every day.
One of the key problems facing the highway construction industry is land acquisition. Delays in receiving legal approvals or clearances from various central and state agencies are a significant barrier.
Sync with Technology
Any contemporary construction machinery, equipment or technology that can mechanised the process leading to increased output is welcomed and VRC is constantly eager to implement it. The team is cognizant of the importance of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) in the coming years. They are actively working on ERP to streamline the entire process and make it possible to fetch data and reports with a single click.
The visionary further states,
“At VRC, we are particularly attentive to the safety of people, structures, the environment and implement all possible current safety techniques and computeraided design to minimize the chance of accidents when doing the work in hazardous or accident-prone areas.”
Accomplishments and Future Outlook – At a Glance
The company has been getting appreciation for delivering projects on time while maintaining the highest standards of safety. It received recognition for putting in more than 10 million safe man hours on two projects, more than 5 million safe man hours on three projects, and so forth. The company received praise for finishing the HMEL Bathinda Refinery Reservoir project four months ahead of schedule. In recent years, VRC has also received bonuses from NHAI three times for finishing projects far ahead of schedule.
After 30 glorious years of its journey, VRC is charting out its next phase of growth with the aim of recording its name in the Construction Giants of the Country. Their key focus is to double the company’s yearly turnover by 2025. The VRC Team has been working tirelessly to make this vision a reality and has goals to branch out into other construction types, such as railroads and ropeways.
