Securing a safe spot in the list of “Entrepreneur of the Year 2021”, Capt Ashwani K. Jhingan is the man behind this innovative idea. He possesses over 30 years of experience in a wide gamut of functional areas, with significant expertise in the areas of Startup Ventures. He has over 15 years of sea sailing experience with command on various types of vessels as the Captain.

He is a Master Mariner, Extra Master (the highest marine professional qualification), Law graduate (L.L.B.) from ‘A’ grade K.C. Law College, University of Mumbai, Master’s Degree in Financial Management from one of the top 10 prestigious Business Management Institutes of India, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai. He has been honoured with the “Glory of India Award”, 2020-21 by the Indian Achievers Forum in recognition of outstanding professional achievement & contribution to Nation Building.

The whole Malaxar team has ensured that they adopt the technological advances and operate as a paper-free office. No printouts are taken unless it is required for a specific and particular reason. A suitable password mechanism has been adopted to ensure avoidance of tempering of the information and documents. The shipping/maritime-related community and industry have been a front runner in adopting technology inclusion.

“Without risk, there is no reward. Recently, we had a “Covid 19” pandemic. Entrepreneurs have yet to come to grips with managing uncertainty like Covid 19. We establish a Risk Management Plan. We changed built-in flexibility, and operated in a transparent manner. We resorted to ‘work from home for the staff during Covid 19 time. We also fulfilled our role of corporate citizenship and social responsibility”, asserted Mrs Neelam.

• The brand ‘Malaxar’ is a well-known established brand and synonymous with the activities that they undertake. The customers perceive our organization to be associated with knowledge and on this parameter there is hardly any competition in our industry. The brand is our marketing asset.

2. Indian Achievers Forum (www.iafindia.com) awarded “Glory of India Award, 2020-21” in recognition of outstanding professional achievement & contribution in Nation Building.
3. While Working for the Tata group, the undersigned had the opportunity of heading and leading OOCL, one of the Top 10 Shipping/ Logistics Lines in the World, on All India basis and Freight Forwarding activities, for nearly a decade.
4. Nominated as ‘Quality Champion’ of “Forbes Gokak Limited” (Tata Group Company) in Jan’94, while working as the Vice President, to compete for ‘JRD Quality Values’ award in the intra-group competition of Tata group companies.
5. Nominated as an Examiner in Feb’95 to evaluate JRDQV applications of Tata group companies. Upgraded as a ‘Senior Examiner’ in Apr’97 in the Tata group. Received an appreciation letter from the Tata group chairman Mr. Ratan Tata for contributions made to the business group through quality-related.
6. Registered with the Supreme Court Bar Association, New Delhi (Apr 2018), the Apex Court of India. Also registered as Advocate in “Original” as well as “Appellate” side of Mumbai High Court in 2010.
7. Empanelled as an arbitrator with Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA) on 11 Feb 2017, and admitted as “Maritime Expert” in the category of ICA panel of arbitrators and conferred with the “permanent status of FICA (Fellow of ICA)”.
