Adipurush, featuring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, has been released in theaters nationwide today (June 16), and early reviews have started pouring in. The movie is directed by Om Raut and is a modern-day adaptation of Hindu epic the Ramayana.

Film critic Vishwajit Patil voiced his disappointment, stating, “Adipurush is a colossal letdown… The visual effects are subpar, and the content falls flat in the first half… This film had the potential to be a game-changer, but unfortunately, it missed the mark… It is all style and no substance. Prabhas gives his weakest performance yet.”

Some viewers were reluctant to embrace the modern interpretation and expressed a preference for Ramanand Sagar’s version.

According to Always Bollywood, the occupancy rate in the regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana stands impressively at 99%, indicating a highly positive response. Conversely, in the Bengaluru region, the occupancy rate is reported to be 70%, suggesting a slightly lower level of engagement compared to the southern states. Across India as a whole, the occupancy rate ranges from 50% to 55%, signaling a moderate response nationwide.

One dissatisfied user wrote, “WORST movie. Is this the way you handle a 1800crs club actor, Om Raut? As a Prabhas fan, I do NOT endorse such poor films. I urge all darlings to refrain from supporting Prabhas for such performances.”

While many anticipated subpar visual effects, some viewers were also unimpressed with the movie’s dialogues.

Opinions on the film vary greatly. While many found Prabhas disappointing, others considered his performance “outstanding.” One viewer shared, “MUST WATCH with families. It offers an engaging take on the Ramayana and delivers. Prabhas stands out, and Kriti and Saif are perfectly cast. The songs are a major plus, and the background music is remarkable. The visual effects are decent.”
