Dr Narendra Vaidya has undergrone specialised trainings from highly reputed institutions around the world and he is well euipped with the most technical know how. He is trained in robotic assisted partial and total knee replacement under the eminent surgeon Dr. Kent Samuelson, LDH Hospital for Joint Replacement, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.

He also underwent training in Endoscopic and Minimal Invasive spine surgery under Dr Bo Lavender at Ryhov Hospital Jonkoping, Sweden and he has also received expert training in Advance Cervical and Lumbar Spine surgery at University Hospital Linkoping Sweden.

RESEARCH

Dr. Narendra Vaidya has conducted research in several eminent areas of Orthopaedics which has immensely contributed to the feld of medicine. Surgery at Memphis, USA. He is trained in Minimal Invasive Spine Surgery under eminent Surgeons like Dr. (Prof.) Bo Lavender in Anterior Cervical Discectomy with fusion. “Does Plate Fixation improve outcome” of 124 cases, Micro-lumbar Discectomy outcome study of 208 cases of Lumbar Disc Prolapse Biometry of Hip / Knee Joint for development of Total Hip Replacement &Total Knee Replacement prosthesis for Indian Population.

“Role of Yogic Practices in the management of Patients with Chronic Backache with particular reference to activity related effciency & Sexual behaviour” Funded by Indian System of Medicine & Homeopathy, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Remarkable Feat By Lokmanya Hospitals

Lokmanya Hospitals achieved the most historic feat by conducting “104 Joint Replacement Surgeries in less than 20 hours” on 28th December 2018! Lokmanya’s highly skilled team led by Dr. Narendra Vaidya Touched by the ever-increasing rate of Road Traffc Accidents, Dr. Narendra Vaidya initiated the “Golden Hour Project” in 1996 followed by conceptualization and implementation of India’s First Comprehensive Trauma System comprising of 300000+ trauma victims Awareness (prevention) – Early treatment (golden hour) – Effcient ambulance connectivity to bring the patient to the hospital – prompt treatment and fnally Rehabilitation which has been instrumental in saving the lives of more than 3,00,000 till date.

The system was designed with a comprehensive and robust approach ranging from Prevention of Road Traffc, Industrial and Domestic accidents to Rehabilitation of the trauma victims back into the society. Dr. Vaidya supported the ‘Safe Life Initiative’ on Road Safety and conducted 500+ Preventive and Awareness Programs in schools, corporate companies, and across all sectors to promote Road Safety to the masses.

The National Road Safety Awareness program was recognized and funded by the Ministry of Highways and Road Transport to educate general population on Road Safety, sensitizing school children, EMT Training, road exhibits, awareness rallies, educating doctors on pre-hospital care & trauma, conducting medical examination of highway drivers etc. He has also designed two-wheeler Rapid Rescue Units as well as MTCCU (Mobile Trauma & Critical Care Unit) to reach trauma victims for which he was awarded the Mahindra Navistar Award.

He led a team of 16 healthcare professionals to Anjaar, Gujarat during the 2001 earthquake. Dr. Vaidya treated 2132 patients and performed 82 surgeries in a makeshift Operation Theatre created in a MTCCU. He was awarded the prestigious Rashtriya Ratna Award for this contribution to the medical contingency and involvement in disaster management. Dr. Narendra Vaidya has conducted 200+ Geriatric Health Awareness and Prevention programs for the ageing population of Maharashtra. His specialisations are knee surgery, hip surgery, spine surgery, elbow and shoulder surgeries.
