Established in 1959, Ruby Hall Clinic has become a brand synonymous today with quality healthcare and sprawls across a 600 bedded structure in the heart of Pune along with a 130 bedded hospital in Wanowrie and a 70 bedded one in Hinjawadi.
Growing significantly with a multi-disciplinary approach under the dynamic leadership of Dr Manisha Karmarkar, COO, Ruby Hall Clinic, leave no stone unturned when it comes to being recognised as a healthcare organisation that provides high-quality, technologically advanced compassionate care. With over 40 specialities and sub specialities, there is virtually no part of the human anatomy and mind that the doctors don’t care for. BEGINNING OF A PROMINENT LEADER
Dr Manisha Karmarkar, a passionate leader and the first woman COO of RHC, is addressing the healthcare challenges through innovative solutions. She is driving the organisation towards operational excellence, setting new benchmarks, and redefining the overall healthcare.
Dr Karmarkar’s journey has been a combination of dedication, passion, hard work, and of course support that has brought her to where she stands today. She began her career as a Senior Registrar in the Intensive Care Unit at Ruby Hall Clinic in 1995. Two years down the line, she assumed the role of a Consultant at the Department of Anaesthesiology. Having expanded her commitment to the hospital, she has been heading the OT services as Director at Ruby Hall Clinic for the past eight years while extending the same authority to the Hinjawadi and Wanowrie branches of the hospital.
Through this time, Manisha was asked to take up the reins of Ruby Hall Clinic Wanowrie as Chief Operating Officer and successfully transformed the financial trajectory of the hospital. Looking at her unique leadership style, the management then roped her in as the Chief Operating Officer at the 600-bedded Ruby Hall Clinic. Besides, she is heading the Department of Robotic Surgery, the Breast Clinic, and the Mother and Child Clinic at the Hospital.
THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE INCEPTION
Ruby Hall Clinic has a rich history rooted in philanthropy, diversity, compassionate care, and a passion for innovation. The founder, Dr. K.B. Grant had a vision — to ensure every patient has access to quality healthcare. In 1959, he started his practice in a small two-bedded nursing home which is now known as Ruby Hall Clinic. In the last 5 decades, they have constantly moved towards a true culture of achieving excellence in-hospital care.
“It wasn’t easy, but, as the results show, it has been a journey well worth taking”, said Mr Karmarkar.

Moreover, it is home to Asia’s first and most advanced Senographe Pristina mammography system, a 3 Tesla MRI, the Einstein Vision 2.0., a digital PET and SPECT CT scanner.
