From being a reckless upstart to being a missionary leader, Viresh Oberoi emerges as a quintessential hero in the field of industrial development, where he served to be the Founder and CEO of mjunction services limited, between 2000 to 2016, where mjunction not only became India’s largest and most profitable e-Commerce Company but also the world’s largest e-Marketplace for steel (metal junction) along with the World’s most innovative e-Marketplace for Coal (coal junction).

Mr Oberoi had a background in Tata Steel before he established mjunction. After being appointed as the youngest Chief Sales Manager, he was chosen to revamp the Company’s Market Facing Processes in collaboration with Arthur D. Little and IBM Global Services. Subsequently, he was even given the responsibility to lead a cross-functional team in implementing the newly designed processes on SAP and other software applications with PWC. In 1999, Tata Steel underwent a monumental Big Bang launch, which became the cornerstone for the company’s future growth in India.

Mr Oberoi has been a Mentor to Tata Elxsi, CMC and Tata Interactive Systems under TBEM. He has been a Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry – Eastern Region from 2014-15 and was the Chairman of the CII National Committee on e-Commerce for three years during the period 2015- 17. Currently, Mr Oberoi serves as a Mentor to the CII regional committee on Healthcare. He is also a member of the Board of MSIF London, UK, and held the position of President of MSSI from 2015 to 2021. Additionally, Mr Oberoi has previously served as the President of the Kolkata chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).
