A day after arresting Aftab Amin Poonawalla for the murder of his girlfriend and live-in partner Shraddha Walker, Delhi Police has reached out to dating app Bumble, where the couple first met.

Bumble is an online dating app where profiles of potential candidates are displayed to users. Users can then either swipe left to decline or swipe right to match with the profile on display. The app differentiates itself from other apps by enabling women to send the first text to a man.

Police said that Poonawalla made a new Bumble profile and went on a date with another woman a few days after killing Shraddha Walker in Dexter style. Poonawalla’s new date often visited the house where Poonawalla lived and where Shraddha Walker’s dismembered body was kept in the refrigerator and closet.

The dating app, Bumble told Business Today, “We will continue to follow closely and remain available to law enforcement should they request our support. The safety and wellbeing of our members is our top priority and we have a dedicated global team serving their needs.”

According to reports, the Delhi Police believe that Poonawalla’s latest match from a dating app could have been his motivation for killing Walker. Aftab Poonawalla met Shraddha Walker on the dating app Bumble. Both moved from Mumbai to Delhi after their parents objected to their relationship.

Aftab was arrested by the Delhi Police on Saturday (November 12). After which he was taken to the jungles where he threw the pieces of Shraddha’s body. However, the police have not been able to get much success in this matter. Now the Delhi police is going to conduct a Narco test on Aftab, only after which the truth will be revealed. Delhi Police’s search operation is still going on in Mehrauli forest. Till now the weapon used in the incident has not been recovered. The accused will be presented in court once again, after which the police can get his remand once again.

According to reports, on May 18, Aftab told police that there was a fight between the couple over shifting of household items from Mumbai. There used to be a fight about who would bear the expenses of the house and who would bring the goods. Aftab got very angry about this. The quarrel started at around 8 pm on 18 May. Aftab Poonawala strangled Shraddha Walkar to death. He kept her body in the room overnight and the next day went to buy a knife and fridge.
