He has also supervised numerous Ph.D., M.Tech., and B.Tech. projects.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS: FROM CHILDHOOD EDUCATION TO A POSTGRADUATE DEGREE

In addition to 13 component libraries and 25 departmental libraries, Smt. Hansa Mehta Library serves as the central library and houses more than 8 lakh volumes and journals, as well as more than 14000 digital dissertations and theses.  The library is open to readers 14 hours a day and features the single largest air-conditioned reading room, which can hold around 1600 readers at once.

The university interacts extensively with industry and civil society in the curriculum development and updating process. The university has signed MOUs with numerous international universities and institutions, including the Universities of Cambridge, Laval, Stuttgart, Cornell, Ithaca, South Carolina, and Keio University, to facilitate teacher and student exchanges that enrich the curriculum from a broader perspective.

The Center for Lifelong Learning and Extension offers 36 short-term and 22 long-term courses on Ancient Indian studies, Art and craft, Human Social Development, Language Proficiency, Computer Education, and Hospitality and Fashion Industry training. The All India and Central Services Training Centre offers classes to help students get ready for UPSC, State PSC, and SSC pattern exams. It also offers advice on how to prepare for other exams, including those for the NDA, CDS, IB, SHO, Police, RBI, and other banks.

THE BEGINNING – TO NURTURE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU) is recognized as one of the premier institutions of higher learning and research in the country. Since its founding in 1949, the university has shown a strong interest in and dedication to the maintenance and promotion of an environment that is conducive to the growth and development of academic achievement. This dedication is a part of the institution’s rich legacy.

One of the earliest academic institutions in Western India, the “Baroda College,” was established in 1881 by His Highness Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. It served as a precursor to Maharaja Sayajirao University and contributed to its founding legacy. In 1909, the enlightened ruler established the “Kala Bhavan”. The Legislative Assembly passed the bill to establish the university, and the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda came into existence on April 30, 1949. It is a State University with English as its medium of instruction and is a premier unitary residential University.

A start-up center and incubator have been established on campus to promote creativity and give young people a place to explore and put new ideas into practice before turning them into start-up businesses. Prerna, Paramarsh, Footprints, BBA Baazigar, Cyberia, Yuvaantas, and Kaafila are a few examples of academic, social, and technical events that are solely planned and run by students. They are now well-known and well-liked not only in the state but also nationwide.
