Rajasthan’s Nandini Gupta Crowned Miss India 2023 in Glittering Ceremony

A 19-year-old girl, Nandini Gupta, has been crowned Femina Miss India 2023 at the 59th edition of the pageant. Shreya Poonja from Delhi was declared the first runner-up and Thounaojam Strela Luwang from Manipur secured the position of the second runner-up.

Taking to Instagram to congratulate the winners, Miss India Organisation wrote, “All of these ladies have a powerful voice and we’re sure that they’re going to use this platform to further all the important causes that they believe in. We’ve seen the passion with which they’ve worked for these positions and must say that there’s no one more deserving! Congratulations, ladies- it’s time to celebrate.”

The Indoor Stadium in Khuman Lampak, Imphal, Manipur, hosted India’s most prestigious beauty pageant, the 59th edition.

Nandini Gupta, a 19-year-old from Kota, Rajasthan, had aspired to become Miss India since she was 10 years old. As per her bio on the official website, Nandini completed her schooling at St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School and is presently pursuing business management at Lala Lajpat Rai College.

In an interview with the pageant, Nandini revealed that Sir Ratan Tata, who is renowned for his philanthropic contributions, was the most influential person in her life. She spoke highly of him and his dedication to humanity. She said, “The man who does everything for humanity and donates most of it to charity. Loved by millions and always grounded.”

Apart from Ratan Tata, Nandini also cited Priyanka Chopra as her inspiration for taking part in the Miss India pageant. She spoke about how Chopra won the national title at a young age and made India proud at the national and international levels. Nandini admired her charitable efforts and her growth as an actor. She said, “She inspires people, has a great sense of humour and has the zeal to gain more as she grows.”

Nandini Gupta will represent India at the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates.

Femina Miss India 2023

The Femina Miss India 2023 was a glitzy event that saw captivating performances by celebrities like Ananya Pandey and Kartik Aaryan. Bhumi Pednekar and Maniesh Paul hosted the show. The state winners vied for the crown under the watchful eyes of an esteemed panel of judges that included Femina Miss India Universe 2002 & Mentor Neha Dhupia, boxing legend Laishram Sarita Devi, renowned choreographer Terence Lewis, an accomplished filmmaker, and writer Harshavardhan Kulkarni, and distinguished designers Rocky Star and  Namrata Joshipura.
