Personal Life:

Nadella married Anupama in 1992. She is the daughter of his father’s IAS batchmate. Anupama was his junior at Manipal, where he was studying for a B.Arch in the Faculty of Architecture. The couple, who live in Clyde Hill and Bellevue, Washington, had three children: a son and two girls. His son Zain had cerebral palsy, was a quadriplegic, and was also legally blind. Zain passed away in February 2022 at the age of 26.

Nadella enjoys reading poetry, especially American and Indian poetry. Having played on his school team, he also enjoys cricket with a passion. The Seattle Sounders FC, a Major League Soccer team, is owned by Nadella and his wife Anupama.
