STUDIO SYMMETRY
VIBRANT DESIGNS THAT CONTEMPLATES YOUR LIFESTYLE
There is a saying, “We shape our homes, and then our homes shape us.” And the assertion might be justified in a variety of ways. We spend a lot of time at home, so it represents our lifestyle and how we interact with our environment. In light of that, every person imagines a place that blends fashion with function. This demonstrates how home design has changed.
A kitchen, for example, used to be just a place where food was served. However, it is now an open, appealing, and functional place for various activities, making it the heart of a home. The design of master bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas has undergone similar lifestyle-driven alterations. Putting it simply, people choose the most pleasant hues and patterns in order to create a dynamic environment that can elevate their standard of living.
However, designing a home or any part of it is no easy task. It requires extensive experience and knowledge of design, whether it is for commercial or residential spaces. After all, everyone looks for customized solutions. Studio Symmetry holds a fine position in this pantheon. Whether it’s interior design, architecture, or other related services, the firm is a one-stop shop. Recently, our magazine had a one-on-one interview with Studio Symmetry’s Co-founder, Mr. Ritik Khanna. The following excerpt is based on the highlights of the conversation that followed.
PREFERRED FOR TAILORED DESIGNS
Studio Symmetry is known for its modern architecture and design styles for both commercial and residential projects. Nowadays, people primarily focus on designs that ensure optimum utilization of spaces along with style. Therefore, the firm’s motto is to meet customers’ requirements with 100% space utilization with no design flaws.
“Because each design is worth lakhs, we make sure there is no wasted space, “ affirms Mr. Khanna. The firm is led by a family of architects, including Mr. Khanna. It also has a dedicated team that collaborates on project planning, elevation, and interior design. This facilitates generating new ideas and eases the strain of discovering design inspiration. The firm focuses on building strong connections with clients; hence, it goes beyond just scratching the surface.
It connects diverse aspects of a structure to provide a coherent totality for each project, expediting the construction process. It specifies each resource to be used after understanding the client’s basic needs. And the assurance is of the magnitude that clients don’t need to enquire repeatedly for the same. The firm uses the best-in-class products but also adheres to the client’s budget. At the very beginning, they give a breakdown of the budget while explaining their BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and other parameters of any project. Transparency has helped attract clients from MNCs both in the country and abroad. They are also heading a housing complex project in Nigeria as architectural consultants.
AN INNOVATION-DRIVEN FIRM
Studio Symmetry basically works in construction and management, followed by holistic consultancy. When designing a space or building, the used materials create a series of environmental impacts. Studio Symmetry works with cutting-edge materials, whether in construction or elsewhere. They employ AAC blocks instead of clay and bricks for in-wall partitions. It coats walls, ceilings, and partitions with Rapid Plaster instead of regular plaster. Using smart materials further helps cut down building time and ensures a smoother process. Mr. Khanna highlights that their construction materials are a major element of their USP.
Projects are further covered by day-to-day overseeing, managing vendors, and transparent communication between all parties involved in the project. By listening to requirements, understanding the latent needs, and further advising on needs, be it architecture, interior, or landscape designs, Studio Symmetry fosters trust and integrity amongst clients.
DEDICATED TO CLIENT SATISFACTION
While Studio Symmetry delivers customized designs that ensure 100% client satisfaction, it’s no cakewalk. Getting inside and reading the minds of clients is crucial and challenging too. Therefore, the firm follows a sequential, data-driven approach to obtain the required insights. It engages clients through de`dicated questions and creates an initial draft. The process continues until the firm levels the playing field.
Mr. Khanna explains, “When we plan a project, we make sure the customer is entirely on board with our ideas, or we will make revisions until the desired level of satisfaction is achieved.” The firm has delivered many eye-catching projects, like construction and designing of the tree adobe, footprint school, a dermatologist and plastic surgeon’s clinic in Dwarka, cafes like black brown coffee, lawyers’s Corporate office in Supernova, hundreds of builder floors, and private residences. The firm has delivered full-scale construction and designing of builder floors, private residences, high-end luxury interiors, etc.
The transparent model also helps the firm learn from mistakes and achieve better growth. As per Mr. Khanna, mistakes generally happen in the construction process. But then again, Studio Symmetry is proactive and rectifies mistakes efficiently.
LIFE AT STUDIO SYMMETRY
“Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determines the future.” Studio Symmetry’s creative capacity is driven by the collaborative efforts of its leaders and team. Everyone trusts and works in the belief that architecture is not bound by a 9-to-5 schedule and that the world requires more symmetry. The firm has a large and diverse team, including contractors, supervisors, designers, architects, etc. Despite having a multi-disciplinary team, the firm promotes and values flexibility and recognizes hard work. Employees work independently, pushing their ideas and perspectives to improve the overall creativity.
This ensures everyone’s engagement and keeps the firm afloat in the waves and tides. Even when the pandemic was raging through the construction landscape, the team worked around the clock to manage and bring in new clients. Overall, the team strives to cultivate a culture that combines creativity and professionalism in order to exceed customer expectations, keep the firm on a forward path, and remain unfazed by adversity.
A JOURNEY TO LOOK UP TO
Setting its sails 7 years ago, Studio Symmetry has delivered over 250 projects in all kinds of settings. In Mr. Khanna’s words, it was “amazing.” The firm actually started with him and his wife on board. As of now, he shares the panel with his brother- and sister-in-law and the firm has grown into a fully-fledged architectural firm.
Moving forward, Mr. Khanna aims to position the firm as a 100+ Cr firm by 2025. It is looking to uncover new opportunities in interior design, along with construction and consultancy. And they are hoping to attract more clients in the global market. The firm has a progressive client base across the country, and with new projects, whether construction or consulting, it is eager to expand. “We are already working on one project in Nigeria and are aiming for new opportunities in India too,” concludes the chief architect.
