Impact of Digital Transformation on Education
In today’s era, the changes to imparting education are clearly visible on the periphery across multiple developed and developing nations. The changes are for the obvious reasons positive with the advancement of digitization in the world. In the United States of America, to leverage the quality of education; students are facilitated to grasp the better understanding of various educational tutorials online. Maximum classes are turned into smart classes to eradicate the obsolete methodologies of teaching. Relevant study material can be accessed through the web with the usage of mobile phones, laptops, etc. Digitization has transformed the whole traditional system of education; the system in which the kids of ’90s were the part of. Digital transformation has an unavoidable impact on the conventional learning norms in the world. Developed nations are pacing up with the digital trend; India has also shown the speedy catch but unfortunately in the limited spheres. The crucial impact of digital transformation on education can be understood by this blog.
Most of the professional degree courses viz. engineering and various computer application streams render the lectures through projectors. It’s the best method for time savior and bulk of relevant study material, students can gather via e-learning. It serves as the portal to the ocean of knowledge and intellect.
“Limiting yourself to the conventional ways of learning is in itself a very limited belief.”
Being a part of an NGO in Delhi, we, as a system, have designed our curriculum on the basis of modernization in education. Students learn foreign languages through AV’s and reflect the learning quite comprehendingly and smartly in the classrooms. There is an amalgamation of manual lectures and online learning. It is evident that students’ workload of writing and preparing notes in the sessions have reduced drastically. There is a multitude of gateways for accessing the learning available on the internet.
In the professional realm, multiple organizations provide the training to the employees through multiple courses on the website like COURSERA, EDX, KHAN ACADEMY, so on and so forth. They are the potent medium of multiple courses on any subject. The duration of the course can extend to 4 – 5 weeks or more depending on the requirement. Professors and teachers from the best universities in accord with their expertise impart the courses. People as per their leisure and time can access these media. There are beaucoup websites which offer courses at no or minimal cost; on the other hand for the same courses Universities for regular classes charge enormous.
Capturing the above advantages, there must not any such question arise “Why should we opt e-learning?” E-learning makes the students pretty sharp, and inculcate in them inquisitiveness. Nowadays, the dependency on the teachers are reducing at a rapid pace, the student can clear the doubts with the aid of Google. Even some kids go in the depths of the topics and give sound competitions to their living teachers. This is an unprecedented revolution in the trajectory of education. Many experts put this notion forth: Computers will replace the teachers soon. This can’t be completely true but yes to inculcate the technical teaching in the schools and colleges is an alarming demand. People obtain exemplary exposure through the internet. We can learn music, dance, arts, philosophy, etc. just tapping on the buttons of mobile and laptops.
Apparently, multiple schools in India are putting a lot of finances in; to acquire all the resources which are quintessential for the learning. The government ought to pay heed to allocate the extra budget for making the classrooms digitized. The curriculum makers in C.B.S.E, I.C.S.E, other government schools, and colleges must look into designing the syllabus in accordance with the advancement of the digital era.
Off course, whiteboards cannot be removed completely; as a matter of fact, overall dependency on the digital word is absurd. There is a requirement of a person to make the kids understand the concept easily or breaking down the steps for the deriving the formulas. Online learning is a one- way process; the receiver can get the information. Whereas, lectures in classrooms is a two-way process; where teachers and students interact. Mentors sought out the problems of the students and help profoundly to imparting the skills and knowledge.
Consequently, there should be a balance of digitization and the role of teachers in the classrooms. Both are beneficial for raising the standards of education globally.
“Exploration to the Digital Word unlocks the wisdom of enormous knowledge, comfort, and skills.”
