Sourav Ganguly dismisses resignation rumors from BCCI; Plans to launch education App
People have seen the best side of Sourav Ganguly during the Covid-19 pandemic and Cyclone Amphan (16 May 2020 – 21 May 2020), when he arranged free vaccinations and food for the needy people. The former Indian captain has now taken an initiative for the betterment of the world’s educational system. Sourav on 1st June confirmed that he plans to launch an education app very soon. “We plan to launch an education platform. It will be a worldwide app. An official announcement will be made soon,” he said.
Earlier, Ganguly’s tweet fueled speculations as several reports suggested that he is ready to join politics, while some said that he has resigned from the post of BCCI President. Ganguly has now clarified that he has not resigned from the post of BCCI President.

The tweet went viral as many fans assumed Ganguly had resigned as BCCI president. Jay Shah (BCCI secretary), on the other hand, dismissed the reports, claiming that all rumours are false. “The reports circulating regarding Sourav Ganguly resigning as BCCI President are false. The BCCI secretary told ANI, “We have some exciting times in the form of media rights coming up and my colleagues and I are completely focused on the upcoming opportunity and safeguarding the interest of Indian cricket.”
Ganguly was elected as the BCCI’s 39th President in 2019, with four months remaining in his three-year term. The great cricketer was the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal before joining the BCCI.
